These Sloth Cupcakes are ADORABLE! Everyone loves sloths these days (and why not they are SO CUTE!) and I just had to come up with a fun little cuppie that celebrates the cuteness of sloths!
Beginner Unlike their inspiration, these Sensational Sloth Pretzel Snacks are actually quite quick to make. Decorated with Candy Melts candy, these little sloths would make a great treat for any jungle or animal-themed party—and kids and adults are sure to get a kick. The striped pink background and fun flower and triangle accents add a pop of excitement to any jungle-themed tablescape. Have the plates hang out on a buffet table or serve up sweet treats directly on them to keep party animals fueled for fun.

Now can these sloth cupcakes get any cuter? They really are easy to decorate using store-bought fondant! Don’t be intimidated about using fondant it’s super easy to work with. If you loved Play-doh as a kid, you can do this!

You will need:
- Cupcakes (I baked chocolate cupcakes)
- Chocolate frosting
- Chocolate fondant
- White fondant
- Black fondant
- Fondant rolling pin
- 2 1/2″ Round cookie cutter
- 2″ Oval coookie cutter
- 1/2″ small Teardrop cookie cutter
- Mini round fondant cutter
- Black food markers
- White round confetti sprinkles
- Parchment paper
- Food safe brush (*optional)
Directions:
Spread a small amount of chocolate frosting on top of the cupcake.
Roll out the chocolate fondant and using the round cutter, cut out a circle.
Place the chocolate fondant circle on the top of the cupcake.
Smooth down one side of the cupcake, then gently bring the edge of the fonant circle down to the rim of the cupcake liner with your thumb.
Rotate the cupcake slowly and repeat the gentle stretching of the side of the circle down to the rim of the cupcake liner. Dont worry if it doesn’t look smooth on top yet.
Now take the palm of your hand and cup the top of your cupcakes. Gently smooth out the top of the cupcake with the palm of your hand. This helps it look smooth.
See? Nice and smooth!
Next, mix a little chocolate fondant with white fondant. Then knead the fondant together until you have a nice tan color. Roll out fondant and cut out the oval shape.
Use the tip of the teardrop cutter and cut a small triangle out of the top of the tan oval fondant.
Repeat a couple more times to make it look like a little fur is sticking up on top.
Attach the tan oval fondant to the bottom half of the cupcake with a little water using a food safe brush.
Next, cut 2 teardrop shapes out of the dark chocolate fondant using the teardrop cutter.
Attach the teardrops to the sides of the tan oval with water.
Roll a small oval ball out of the black fondant.
Using the mini round cutter punch, cut 2 black circles out of the black fondant.
Attach the black fondant nose in the middle of the cupcake, and the round circles on the teardrops using water for the eyes.
With a toothpick dipped in frosting, attach 2 mini white confetti sprinkles to the middle of the black eyes.
Draw on a mouth using a black food marker.
Now you have absolutely adorable sloth cupcakes!

7. This is how your cupcake should look after the sides are secure.
8. Now take the palm of your hand and cup the top of your cupcake. Gently smooth out the top of the cupcake with the palm of your hand until it looks smooth.

14. Attach the teardrops to the sides of the oval with water.
15. Roll a small oval ball out of the black fondant.
16. Attach the ball using water to the center of the cupcake for the nose.
17. Using the mini round cutter, cut 2 black circles out of the black fondant.
18. Secure the round circles on the teardrops using water for the eyes.
